After your GP referral to Arc, your allocated therapist will contact you, often by phone, and set up an initial meeting to listen to your concerns, answer any questions and help define what you want to achieve in your therapy. The normal duration of a session is often an hour and most people attend weekly. Fortnightly and even monthly meetings can be arranged to maintain your wellbeing if required. Additionally, you will be given leaflets that cover at greater depth all aspects of our work, such as :

  • agreement for sessions and your expectations

  • cancellations and non attendance

  • confidentiality and data protection

  • cost

Our organisation belongs to the community it serves and without its support cannot survive finanacially. We can only remain a free service if the local people who can afford it make a contribution towards the cost of their sessions. Each session costs Arc twenty pounds so no matter how small the donation, it all helps towards the overall cost of the service. Collection boxes are placed in the counselling rooms. This website also offers easy options to contribute by clicking on Donate links, or visiting our Shop and Fundraising Pages.
